Hi all --
Two quick announcements:
1) Don't forget that midnight is the deadline to apply for a
Communications & Media Law Society board position.
2) Also, the FCBA's annual mentoring luncheon is coming up. Please
read on for more details...
The 6th Annual Mentoring Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 8,
2011 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the law offices of Wiley Rein LLP, 1776
K Street, NW, Main Conference Center. This year, The Diversity and
Young Lawyers Committees plan to introduce some format changes
designed to maximize attendees' opportunities to speak to and network
with multiple mentors (more information to come!).
The mentors will include: Kathleen Q. Abernathy (Frontier
Communications), Milton Brown (NTIA), Ari Q. Fitzgerald (Hogan
Lovells), Susan L. Fox (The Walt Disney Company), Benjamin E. Golant
(United States Copyright Office), Erwin G. Krasnow (Garvey Schubert
Barer), Mark Lloyd (FCC) Ruth Milkman (FCC), Margaret L. Tobey
(NBCUniversal), Bryan N. Tramont (Wilkinson Barker Knauer), and Amy R.
Wolverton (T-Mobile).
Attendees will be seated in groups of 8 with two mentors seated with
each group. The mentors will lead a discussion at each table. There
is no agenda for these discussions; instead, attendees are encouraged
to raise any issues and ask any questions about career development,
mentoring, professional growth opportunities, how to become a better
lawyer, etc. Past luncheons have proven to be very popular and
attorneys of all levels of seniority and experience are encouraged to
attend and participate. Space is limited so register early.
For more information, contact Daniel Alvarez at dalvarez@willkie.com
or Mark Brennan at mark.brennan@hoganlovells.com. The luncheon cost is
$25.00.
